Tyler Adams, a versatile midfielder, has been recruited by Leeds United from RB Leipzig for an undisclosed sum that is estimated to be in the neighborhood of £20 million.
The 23-year-old international from the United States signed a five-year deal with Elland Road that will keep him there through June 2027.
After the addition of fellow American Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, and Darko Gyabi, Adams is Jesse Marsch’s fifth summer signing.
After 2.5 years and 101 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga team, the midfielder departs Leipzig.
Adams and Marsch will now collaborate once more after previously working together at the MLS teams New York Red Bulls and Leipzig.
In a preseason friendly match against Chelsea in July 2015, Adams received his professional debut from Marsch at the age of 16, and he lasted four years with the American team before joining Leipzig in 2019.
The 19-cap USA international struggled to establish a consistent starting spot at Leipzig, starting just 12 of his 24 games in the Bundesliga last year.
