Report claims that the Dolphins have discussed trading for receivers Preston Williams and Lynn Bowden Jr.

Preston Williams, a wide receiver with the Miami Dolphins, has made it clear that he wants his position on the team to alter, and the 25-year-desire old’s may result in him joining a new team. Sports Illustrated claims that the Dolphins have discussed a trade with other teams that would include Williams.

The undrafted athlete has been a member of the squad for three years, but he’s not thrilled with how much he plays right now.

Williams told the reporters last week, “I just feel like I’m not getting the opportunities that I deserve, just script-wise, not being on the field-wise” (via Dolphins Wire). “[I want] chances to demonstrate my ability to defeat my opponent.”

Williams claimed that during OTAs, he had an epiphany with new head coach Mike McDaniel on this subject.

Williams recalled that the only explicit request she made was, “I just want my opportunity.” “You’ll get your chance, [McDaniel] assured her. Simply said, all I ask of him is that he keep his promise.”

Last season, Williams started three less games than he had in his previous eight starts over a three-year span. He has caught 56 passes for 787 yards and seven touchdowns in three seasons. Last year, he scored zero touchdowns.

This offseason, the Dolphins made changes to their offense, most notably by signing star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. With Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Trent Sherfield, Cedrick Wilson, Mohamed Sanu, and youngster Erik Ezukanma all vying for key offensive roles, the team is not short on wideouts.

Williams isn’t content, and the organization already has other go-to players. It appears like the team is shopping Williams to see what worth he might have that would be advantageous to Miami.

According to Sports Illustrated, wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. has also been involved in trade discussions.

The Raiders selected Bowden in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, where he began his professional career. He was traded to Miami before his rookie season had started, thus he did not spend much time in Raider country.

Due to his injury, Bowden was placed on injured reserve last season. In 2020, he made 28 receptions for 211 yards.
