Los Angeles Lakers Lose Dennis Schroder to Health and Safety Protocols

The Los Angeles Lakers – losers of 6 of their past 7 games – are going to be without guard Dennis Schroder for 10-14 days due to COVID-19 healthy and safety protocols, per Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic.

Schroder is averaging 15.5PPG, 5.8APG, and 3.5RPG on 44% shooting from the field and 34% shooting from three in 59 games this season.

Lakers star LeBron James just recently returned to the starting lineup – but he’s already back on the injury report for his ailing ankle, per Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Currently, the Lakers sit in the seventh spot in the Western Conference, which means they’d have to participate in the play-in tournament for a chance at a postseason birth; an idea which James said “whoever came up with that s— needs to be fired.”

Without Schroder and James, the Lakers will have a hard time outpacing the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks for the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
